Visiting Orlando Florida with children is the best way to visit it as there are so many things aimed at families and children – whether it is LEGOLAND, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Disneyland or SeaWorld. That’s not to say that adults aren’t entertained as well, but knowing your children are having a good time is usually good enough for a parent on holiday. This article offers some great tips for visiting Orlando with children to help you have the best experience possible.
The Nickelodeon Suites Resort
By far one of the best hotel complexes for families with children is the Nickelodeon Suites. It has 777 rooms, 2 swimming pools, a large dining centre, a Nickelodeon cinema, a live show theatre and hundreds of shops. It looks just as you imagine it would – bright, vibrant colours and lots of space for kids to be, well kids! A few points of warning though – the website suggests that internet is available in the rooms, whereas wireless internet is only actually available in the public areas. However the staff in the food hall especially was very friendly and met all requests with a smile and well-mannered response. The food is well prepared, hot and fresh with some incredibly tasty desserts.
One of the attractions you really need to see to believe is Wonderworks which looks like a building standing the wrong way up. An evening there begins with a dinner show and then you have the chance to make your way through an interactive science museum with lots of different exhibits. One of the particular favourites for many visitors is the simulator where you can design and then experience your own rollercoaster.
Dave And Busters
Dave and Busters is what happens when a family restaurant mixes with arcade games. You get to have a nice meal and then the children are given little game tokens with x amount of dollars on them and they can use them for various video games. Games include things such as Giant Connect 4, Giant Fruit Ninja and Giant Doodle Jump. It is a great way to spend an evening and your kids will love being able to choose from the many different games available.
iFly Indoor Skydiving
This is as crazy as it sounds. It offers you and your young children the chance to experience sky diving, but in a very safe and indoor environment. It has all the hallmarks of being one of those things that you would only find in the USA.
The above is just a few of the many great places you could visit with your family on a trip to Orlando Florida. There are of course many more, including the world famous LEGOLAND and Disneyland resorts and Universal Studios where you are thrown into the world of movies and all your and your children’s favourite characters. Even if you want something a little more natural history, there is the magnificent
SeaWorld that will impress with all the wonderful creatures on display. Orlando is every bit as over the top as people suggest it is, but that’s what makes it so special!
